Lease vs buy

Why lease instead of buying?

Premium domains like PrivateJet.africa command five-to-six figure purchase prices. Leasing gives you everything at a fraction of the cost.

Buying a premium domain

Legal fees for transfer and contract negotiation
Complex escrow and transfer processes
Capital locked in an illiquid asset
Takes weeks or months to complete

Leasing from DomainLease.World

Predictable monthly fee — no capital outlay
Contract provided, no external legal fees needed
Simple email process, no escrow or brokers
Capital stays free for growth, marketing, and operations
Live within 48 hours of payment, on average
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Once DNS is configured, the domain behaves exactly as if you owned it. You can build any website, host it anywhere, set up email, configure subdomains, and use it for all business purposes. The only restriction is that you cannot transfer or sell the domain itself, as we retain ownership.

You can cancel your lease with 30 days’ written notice. We’ll confirm receipt and begin the offboarding process. At the end of your notice period, DNS will be reconfigured and the domain becomes available for a new leasee. We recommend giving your visitors two to three weeks’ notice via a redirect to your new domain.

Absolutely exclusive. Each domain is leased to one business at a time. While you hold an active lease, the domain is yours alone — no other party can acquire rights to it. This exclusivity is written into the lease contract and enforced by the fact that we control DNS: only your server receives traffic from the domain.

We accept international bank transfer (SWIFT/SEPA), Wise, and major credit and debit cards. Payment details are provided in the lease information email we send after your inquiry. Monthly and annual payment plans are both available, with a discount for annual upfront payment.

In many cases, yes. If you’d like to convert your lease into full ownership, mention it in your inquiry or at any point during your lease and we’ll discuss a purchase or lease-to-own arrangement for your specific domain.
